1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
While the Bible teaches us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, it is important to realize that there is a fear that destroys. Against this fear, Jesus said, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:34). We might call these feelings worry. Jesus taught the disciples that in the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer. He has overcome the world. (John 16:33b). Trusting in Christ, we enjoy this triumph. Jesus is God’s ultimate outpouring of love, and He will never lose even one of His children. Rest in the knowledge and enjoy every moment.
