Biblical Reflection: 1 Kings 8:56

1 Kings 8:56 – Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Many times in the history of God’s people in the Bible, He has granted rest from war and persecution. Even closer to home is the fact that God’s forgiveness grants peace to the anxious contrite hearts of His children. Jesus told His disciples, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). What lovely blessing! So as He calmed storm, let Jesus’ still, small voice say to your heart, “Peace, be still.”
