Biblical Reflections: Colossians 2:13-15

Colossians 2:13-15 – And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Sin kills. It does not simply wound or sicken. It does not merely hurt or maim. Sin leads to death as surely as a bullet. There are innumerable people in the world that are no more alive spiritually than a stone.

Of course the dead do not know they are dead. A dead man cannot feel or see or hear. So are the dead in sin. They are past feeling or seeing or hearing the Word of God.

Just as a miracle is required to raise someone from physical death. So too with those spiritually dead. Praise God for miracles.

By the miracle of God’s grace, His people are saved from death to life through the work and Person of Jesus Christ. Therefore, because of the Savior, we are more than conquerors. Live triumphantly today!
