Ephesians 4:4-6 – There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Did you know that you have a calling? All of God’s people have a calling, a vocation if you will. It is a calling to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
I was blessed with a great relationship with my natural father. He was a mentor, teacher, and friend. He had a knack for being exactly what I needed when I needed it. As I grew and matured, so did his expectations and treatment of me. While God never truly changes, He does expect us to grow. The Word tells us that even Jesus grew and waxed along in the Spirit all to the glory of the Father.
This is not a new concept now, and it was not new when Paul wrote of it to the Ephesians. An old proverb says,”Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers” (Proverbs 17:6). So we should enjoy sitting down with God and reading His letters to us.
We glory in Him and in turn He glories in us, His children. Just think about it.
