Biblical Reflections: Psalm 46:1-3

Psalm 46:1-3 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Have you ever felt like an avalanche threatened to overwhelm you oe like a flood was whisking you away?  If so, the Lord has good news for you.  By the work of the Holy Spirit through faith we can remove mountains and trust in Him to rally us in a flood (Mark 11:22-23; Isaiah 59:19).

The key to deliverance for us is realizing that God’s children are already effectively saved from ultimate damnation by Jesus Christ. Our problem is that we say we trust Him with the eternal things and fail to trust in Him for our present concerns. God is present today. He can be found in His Word and in prayer immediately.

We believe. May God help our unbelief.
