Biblical Reflections: Psalm 19:14

Psalm 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Do you feel that you, your life and actions, are acceptable to God? I hope you can say no and then yes. No, because all have fallen short of the glory of God and His commandments. Yes, because through Jesus Christ God has made His beloved children acceptable.

The Apostle Paul put it this way… “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved” (Ephesians 1:3-6).

The Eternal God laid out His work from before the beginning of all things according to His loving and just character. While our perspective is limited, the Bible reveals that God knows all things that happen or could happen. Nothing is hidden from Him, and nothing limits Him save His character.

Our hope lies not in accepting Him. Rather our only hope is that He renders us acceptable in His holy presence. Jesus made that not only possible but actual. Because of the Redeemer, the Lord of Glory, Who gave His life, the saints are adopted according the ordained purpose and will of Almighty God. Therefore, we should feel acceptable to God, because of the precious Lamb of God was slain before the foundation to save those loved by God before the foundation of the world. Thank the Lord today for your salvation. He is worthy!
