Joshua 1:8 – This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
How often do you take the time to meditate? Quietness, rest and simple consideration of God Word and His works is immensely rewarding and refreshing. The Psalmist wrote, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day” (Psalm 119:97).
When we dwell upon godly things, we leave no room for sinful thoughts. Pail understood this relationship, writing, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
