Isaiah 43:2 – When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
The promises of God are amazing. Despite our failing Him again and again, He gives us assurances. These promises are not lightly given, they require sacrifice on God’s part Who did and does no wrong. This is the essence of love.
Isaiah’s prophecy is full of such promises both wonderful and foreboding. The greatest promise Isaiah delivered was the promise of the Messiah. The Anointed One, the Savior, would come to deliver Gods Kingdom and salvation to all who believe in Him. Out of Heaven came this only begotten Son of God not to condemn but to deliver.
It is Jesus Christ that takes us by the hand and out of danger by the still waters. It is Jesus that leads us through the fire to inexplicable peace. Think of Stephen who was blessed with a vision of Jesus as his persecutors stoned him to death. Stephen did not scream in pain but rather he testified of the vision and asked for forgiveness for his tormentors. (Acts 7:54-60)
Stephen knew the hand of the Savior. Do you? Call to Him, and He will lift you up.
