2 Corinthians 5:9-10 – Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Sobering isn’t it? Knowing that we must face Christ. While Jesus was born to bear the sins of His people, the Scriptures also tell us that God has made Him the Judge. We may resist Him in vain, but the Christ will weigh us in the balance.
The wicked will the condemned, and the just, who live by the gift of faith, shall be delivered. Of course, the judgement of Christ does not just concern our eternal destination. As Christ judges righteously over His kingdom, He does so also in the present. The hearts of ministers, teachers, bankers, lawyers, bricklayers, and politicians as well as everyone else are weighed by Christ today and everyday.
We know Jesus Christ as the Savior, but never forget that … “God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
