1 Corinthians 2:1-2 – And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Have you ever met someone who just amazed you? Maybe you met a ballerina. Or maybe you met a professional baseball player. Following such an experience, all you could talk about was how they were so amazing. You shook their hand and got a picture with them. It was great!
So often we later find that our heroes were cheats, scoundrels, foulmouthed, or worse. We grow jaded, bitter or numb to the sins of those we once idolized. Saddened by the failures of others and ourselves, we can lose hope just when we begin to realize how badly we need it.
Jesus Christ the Righteous answers this need. Unlike us He “was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). He is truly perfect and full of goodness and look light. He is worthy of admiration and adoration, and He will never disappoint you. Trust Him. I beg you, trust Him today.
