Matthew 5:6 – Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Do you long for freedom from temptation and sin? Do you want to be perfect and holy? Do you desire to do right even though you often fail? Well I have good news for you, Jesus makes that not only possible, the Savior died and rose again to make it a reality for His people. Thank you Lord!
There are many beatitudes given in the Bible. We must understand that God desires to bless His children, only we often get in the way of these blessings. For this reason, Jesus was necessary to secure our Salvation and the accompanying blessings that come from a heart made right with God.
Every time we falter, every time we come short, we can rest in the knowledge that Jesus was able to carry on even to the Cross meant for us. His holiness was sufficient to save all His sheep from the errant path to the way of life. While I can say with Isaiah, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips,” I trust in Jesus, like a hot coal from the altar, to burn away the sin within me (Isaiah 6:5-7).
Jesus says come and drink. Let us heed the Lord and drink from the still waters, secure and safe.
