2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Happy New Year! The Lord has blessed His people with continued time to rejoice upon His good earth. Praise Him! Praise Him for His excellent greatness!!
As we begin a new year according to the Julian calendar, we are should take time to reflect upon the blessings that have brought us thus far and the path ahead. All of God’s children upon Earth have greater things before them than behind.
If you are struggling today with work, take the yoke of Jesus, and He will help you (Matthew 11:28-30). If you are struggling with health concerns, the Great Physician will grant you healing and grace in time (John:1-9). If you are struggling with relationships, remember that God is love (1 John 4:8). If you don’t know what to do or where to go, pray to the Lord for wisdom Who gives it liberally (James 1:5)
Finally, while I am not a huge fan of vain New Year’s Resolutions, as disciples of Christ, we are called to be renewed after the calling of the Savior to holiness and righteousness (Ephesians 4:21-25). Sing with the saints, I am resolved no longer to linger,Charmed by the world’s delight; Things that are higher, things that are nobler,These have allured my sight (I Am Resolved, Palmer Hartsough, 1896). Turn toward Christ, and resolve to be a better you.
