Micah 6:2 – Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
What is the secret to conflict resolution? When conflicts divide us, we can react in many ways. We can fight. We can flee. Or just maybe we can talk, negotiate or even sympathize.
Our Great Heavenly Father desires His children to know Him. When we rebel against holiness and forsake righteousness, we turn joy into pain and light into darkness. Knowing our frame of dust, God sent Jesus Christ, the Son, to make way for salvation.
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it” (Isaiah 1:18-20).
The Word of God demonstrates all the ways that God reasons with His people, pleading for them to turn back to Him. Finally God sent His Son to died and live again to demonstrate His love and mercy. By the Holy Spirit, the Lord has called His people to repentance, and by faith we know that Peter’s admonition to the people on Pentecost rings true today, “Save yourselves from this untoward generation” (Acts 2:40).
