Romans 6:18 – Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Do you ever feel trapped in your own skin? Or rather, do you feel overwhelmed by your sins? If not I have to wonder about your understanding of the holiness of God. We have all fallen short of His glory in a dramatic way.
Praise be to God and Jesus Christ the Son who died to free us from the power and guilt of sin. Without Jesus, we would remain lost and dead to God as aliens to His presence. Because of Jesus, and only because of Jesus, the children of God are saved by the grace of God. Freed from the power of sin, we are called to the holiness of God to be servants of righteousness.
This week we commemorate the Passion of Christ wherein He finished the work of redemption. In other words, by giving His precious and holy life, He accomplished for us what we could not for ourselves. Doing so, He nailed our transgressions to His cross. (Colossians 2:14). He loved the Church even when she hated Him. Thank you Jesus, my Lord and my God.
