Psalm 30:4 – Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
I have heard it said that holiness is the chief characteristic of God. Using the Holy Bible as our guide, we see God through a lens of holy attributes like love, righteousness, goodness, patience, and justice. All of these things hang upon His holiness, the surpassing purity and integrity that governs His moral character. In all the workings of the Lord, we see holiness.
Why should we remember the holiness of God? It was in holiness that He created the heaven and earth declaring them good. It was in holiness that He spared our forefathers even in their rebellion that we might live. “He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name” (Psalm 111:9).
Remember today to consider the Lord in awe, whispering Holy, Holy, Holy is His name.
