Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Every day we have an opportunity. We can submit to the Lord, or we can attempt to resist Him. Rebellion leads only to difficulty. Just like a stone buried deep in the ground, we can only frustrate ourselves in challenging the Lord Jesus.
Speaking of His position as the chief cornerstone, Jesus warned all who could hear Him saying, “…Whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder” (Matthew 21:44). And to the future Apostle Saul, the Lord said, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 9:4-5).
Rather than rebellion, the Apostle Paul shared the story of His conversion and the wisdom of obedience with countless others in time. For this reason, he pleaded with the Romans to renew their minds to devotion to God. When we renew our commitment to the Lord daily, we are reminded that He lifts us up on wings and we can run and not faint despite the challenges we face.
Renew your mind. Renew and run.
