1 Chronicles 29:9 – Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord : and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
Meditation: Where does joy come from? I do not mean happiness but rather the hard to define quality that can endure hardship with a smile and appreciate the simple things with contentment. This kind of joy, true joy, is a gift.
Where do all good gifts come from? “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17). No divine gift should be taken for granted but acknowledged and appreciated.
Not everyone has joy, but every one of God’s children has access to the living water of Christ by the Holy Spirit where comfort and joy flow continually to uplift the spirit and refresh the soul. I don’t know about you, but I love to laugh and enjoy life.
Call to Action: Share a clean joke with a friend and laugh. Give a gift to someone in need without occasion. Send a card to an invalid. Make a special donation to your church. Whatever you do, do it with joy as unto the Lord Jesus Christ It’s a gift after all. His kingdom is full of Joy.
