Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? – Romans 8:35-37

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. – Romans 8:35-37

Meditation:  No one and nothing can separate God’s children from the love of Christ.  The effectiveness of His sacrifice upon Calvary is is indisputable.  He did not die to give us a chance.  He died to nail the offenses of God’s children upon the cross.  End of story.

So then what could possibly challenge this love?  Nothing.  The love of Christ is without equal.  He loved us when we were yet sinners.  He loved us despite our attempts to reject Him.  “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not” (1 John 3:1).

Knowing we can depend upon this love, we can dare much for Christ.  Our service to Him should have no bounds.  He loved us beyond any mortal means and took away our sins.  While we can never repay Him, we should show our love and appreciation with praise, honor, and good works to glorify Him.

Call To Action:
Christ has power over life and death.  His love will never forsake us. “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works” (Hebrews 10:23-24).
