Meditation: Have you ever said one thing and done another? It is hard not to be a hypocrite. Frankly people fail to live up to their own expectations regularly. We over and underestimate our abilities all the time. This results in a battle against hypocrisy.
There is an old joke that is told where a man invites some one to church. The churchman said to His friend, “Hey John, why don’t you come to church with me some time?” John replied, “I don’t go to church. Church is full of hypocrites.” The churchman responded, “That’s O.K. We have room for one more.”
The Apostle was not joking when he told the Galatians that it is not enough to live in Spirit. We must also walk in the Spirit. This distinction is important. Simply living, breathing, and taking up space proves nothing about our faith and does not glorify God. Living abundantly by faith, walking, talking and demonstrating the grace of God and the fruit of His Spirit honors Him.
Call To Action: Jesus answered skeptics with action. In fact He pointed to His works as proof of His authority and power as granted by God the Father. When questioned about His ability to forgive the sins of a man sick with palsy, the Lord said, “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house” (Luke 5:24).
Actions speak louder than words. Live and walk in the Spirit today.
