Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures – Luke 24:45
Meditation: Do you understand everything? I hope you are humble enough to say emphatically, No! However, the Bible teaches many lessons on the importance of understanding. Without it, even the most capable are blinded.
Proverbs 13:15 says, “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” Foolishness leads to hardship, and God desires blessed wisdom for His children. The best way to avoid foolishness is to pray for and genuinely seek wisdom and understanding. These twin virtues are keys to opening up all things.
With understanding, trials can be endured. With understanding, mysteries are solved. With understanding, relationships can be preserved and restored. Without understanding we are destined to despair.
Where must we go for wisdom and understanding? To the Lord. As He opened the understanding of the Apostles, He can and dies open the minds of believers today when they trust Him.
Call to Action: Wisdom is one thing the Bible tells us that the Lord will give to any who ask. Read James 1:4 and see for yourself. Ask and you shall receive..
