God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds – Hebrews 1:1-2
Jesus’s birth heralded the end of an era. The days prophesied by Daniel and others were coming to pass. The Son of Man, the ideal man, the Son of God, was born. Appointed power and dominion without end, the Messiah would be the Everlasting King (Daniel 7:13-14). This is Jesus.
The Lord is not simply another man, but yet He humbled Himself to live as other men. The hand of the Creator lived as one of His creatures yet without sin. This humble manner alone should draw us to the Savior, but more He came to seek and save the lost sheep. This is the Good News of Christ Jesus. God the Father sent Him for us.
Despite our rejection and rebellion, God loved the Church beyond any person’s comprehension. This great love of God in Christ Jesus is the source of all our hope and the basis of our faith. I pray the Lord speaks to you in these last days to lift up your heart to know Him more fully.
