Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. – 1 Thessalonians 5:5
The Gospels describe Jesus Christ as the light of the world, and He in turn told His disciples that they were the light of the world as well. When we are empowered by the Holy Spirit and faithfully disciplined to the teachings of Christ in humility, we shine more and more like Christ. Indeed, God is the Father of Lights from Whom we have all our hope and blessings.
All born again Christians are called to represent their faith faithfully. From faith to faith, we are to engage with others to teach and minister the truths we believe through genuine experiences sharing in each other’s burdens. These good works are a testiment not to our goodness but the goodness of God. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17).
Like stars in the night, we must shine the brighter in the darkness. Let the light shine!
