Love As Brethren – 1 Peter 3:8-9

1 Peter 3:8-9 – Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:  Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
One of the greatest blessings we experience as Christians is fellowship.  Knowing we have a people everywhere in the world, we can be comforted both spiritually and physically anywhere we go by God’s disciples.  Therefore as the Church, we are bound to have compassion for all the saints.

Having compassion means that we need to show love and care for the brethren with pity and kindness as we desire for ourselves.   Never should we treat one another with malice or evil intent but rather with blessings.

As the Lord said, “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).
